called the general meeting of the WTSBC to order at the Woodbridge Community
Center at 1:35 PM, with an attendance of fifty-five active members, which is a
quorum. Attendance sheet attached.
Pledge of
Allegiance:

A
moment of silence
in remembrance of all our deceased members.
Officer Roll Call: Joseph
Onuska - treasurer – Joseph Cafaro excused, all other members are present.
Secretary’s Report: Joe O.:
Steve Sharkey made a request for a motion to dispense with the reading of the
minutes. A motion made by Bob Kazimir, seconded by John Borkowski, and approved
unanimously.
Treasurer's
Report:
- In
absence of Joe Cafaro, Steve reported there is $3,583.53 in the account.

President's Report: Steve
welcomed the members and announced the Birthday and Anniversary lists for June.
We currently have ninety-four active and eleven nonactive members. Room
attendance for May averaged thirty-three on weekdays and fifteen on weekends.
Steve read the club’s protocols and room policies.
The
three-game rule
has been officially adopted and “states that
once all five of the tables are being used and there are four people or more on
the waiting list, the rule takes effect. Once the three-game rule is announced
any player winning three games is required to relinquish their table.
Club
Picnic:
Steve: The annual club picture has been moved from September 11th to
September 18th at Pelzman Park.
Memorial picture frame:
Steve reported that there was talk from the membership about removing the frame,
the E-Board discussed the removal of the frame and the comments made by members
and decided that the picture frame will remain in place. We may place a memorial
section on the new website when it is rebuilt. that may include a spot for
comments about the deceased member.

Awards:
Nina Blackwell reported the awards earned last month.

Relay for Life fund drive:
Wayne Collins thanked the membership for their past and present contributions
and asked them to give what they can for this cause. There is $1,355 collected
to date. The fundraiser will conclude at the end of the month.
Committee Updates:
Membership/Orientation
- Joe Keber introduced the two new members Angel Moralas and Hartland “Fish”
Murrain and welcomed them to the club. Joe stated that there are five applicants
on the waiting list, two of which we will interview in July and two in August.
We are still looking for good members.
Fellowship
– John Borkowski read a list of members that the committee has sent cards to or
spoken to and those that are in the hospital.

Maintenance/Supplies

Collins reported that Bob Cedrone “the new
member on the committee” brought in his own vacuum and cleaned under the tables.
Water/Soda
- Angel Rodriguez & Peter Aleo No Report.
Steve reported that with the price of soda going up we are considering
increasing the price in the room.
Tournaments
Jerry Granato Sr. Memorial Tournament:
Wayne reported that the tournament is underway. Steve thanked Jerry Jr. for
stepping up and sponsoring the tournament and we are glad to see his family
members coming to the room to see the tournament in progress. It is a terrific
way to honor Jerry Sr. in our hearts and minds. Jerry not only supplied the
trophies but also brought coffee and a variety of his father’s favorite snacks
each day. Tiers 1-A and 1-B are complete and tiers two three and four will
finish next Thursday and Friday.
9-Ball Joe Keber:
Nine-ball finished this morning with the Rack n
Rollers taking first place. Season 12 will start on September 30th
and end on December 16th.
Triple Play: Joe
O. The game was moved
from September 16th to August 20th.
Signup sheets available on July 10th.
Doubles Tournament:
Joe O. The game was moved from August 20 to
August 6th.
Teams can form on their own or any singles will be paired up before the games.
The only stipulation is two tier 1-A or 1-B players cannot team up. Anyone that
signs up as a single will be paired with someone before the tournament.
Member/Relative tournament:
Joe O. the tournament will be on September 27th. Signup sheets
available on July 28th.
Dawn Hopkins
Steve will contact Dawn about her coming back later this year.
League matches.
Lou Algaze /
Evelyn Mercado: Exhibition games will be played at home and away until
September.
Hospitality
- Christina Malangone & Ed Vasquez: Steve thanked the committee and
John Borkowski’s wife for supplying the treats
for today’s meeting.

CPR/AED- Wayne
Collins: There are currently twenty-two members certified in CPR/AED There will
be classes in October. If anyone is interested in being certified contact Wayne
and he will put you on the list for the next class. The classes are free for our
members.
Senior Olympics
Pat stated that the Kickoff will be on July 8th at 2:00pm upstairs in
the WCC atrium. Joe K. and Wayne Collins will have a cornhole meeting with Mike
Garamella soon. Pat requested that the Billiard room be closed while the kickoff
is in progress and to have the members present go to the meeting. The booklets
for the senior Olympics will be available in the next two weeks and you can
register online at NewJerseySeniorOlympics,com Woodbridge residence only pay
$10.00 for the first three evens.

needs to order any clothing. A club Shirt is needed if you play in the 8-ball
league.

Algae asked for members to volunteer at the food pantry. Joe Keber reported that
he changed the air purifier filter. Pat mentioned that the WCC staff enters our
room monthly to clean the air ducts in the ceiling.
Floor Open/Q&A
Steve reported
that we are thinking of increasing the number of mandatory meetings next year.
